REDSEC’s Ranked Battle Royale entered Season 4 with a clear message from the studios: infantry-first competitive, faster early ranks, and harsher consequences for leavers later in the season.

Big rule change: heavy armor out of ranked

Vehicle keycards, MBTs, and IFVs are removed from Ranked BR for Season 4. Armor still exists in core BR; competitive play is being steered toward infantry skill expression while the team rethinks vehicles for ranked.

That will show up in your stats:

  • Lower vehicle kill share on ranked-heavy accounts
  • Higher value on gun skill, utility, and placement
  • Different drop economy (no keycard missions tied to those vehicles)

Ranked Points (RP) recalibration

Official pain point from S3: Rookie and Bronze took too long.

Season 4 adjustments include:

  • Confirmed assists earn the same RP as kills (squad-first design)
  • Kill/assist full-value cap raised 4 → 8, then excess drops to 10% (was 50%)
  • Lower RP thresholds for Rookie (−100 per division) and Bronze (−50)
  • Higher match entry costs outside Rookie (especially Master / Elite 250)
  • Placement RP extended to top 22 squads (was top 14)

Practical takeaway: play for squad conversions and placement, not pure frag padding after the eighth kill.

Matchmaking and party rules

Ranked stays Labs in Live. Broader cross-rank matchmaking continues in S4 while banding is rebuilt toward S5. Parties are limited to within two ranks of each other.

Mid-season enforcement

Coming later in S4:

  • Stricter leave penalties — cooldown for serial quitters; lose accrued RP + entry fee
  • AFK warning before kick across modes (including menus)

Rewards flavor (from the Season 4 roadmap)

Beyond rank reset cosmetics, Season 4 ranked rewards refresh playercards, titles, icons, patches, and decals. Brodie soldier skins scale with end rank; Elite 250 targets the S4 Eliminator skin.

Track the climb on BattleStats

Ranked is a ladder; your RedSec panel is the career mirror:

  1. Note division before a grind block.
  2. After 20–30 ranked games, compare wins, win rate, and top-10 rate.
  3. If kills rose but placements fell, you are over-fighting — see how to read placements.
  4. Put wins/K/D on stream via the overlay builder.
